About Me

Hi, I studied abroad in Dakar, Senegal from January to May, 2019. The original conception of this blog was to document my journey and time in Dakar. Since then I graduated from college with my bachelor’s at the start of the pandemic in May 2020. I navigated my post-grad life like a lot of people do: jumping from job to job, trying new things, and trying to figure out a career. Since June 2021, I landed a job that seems to be the right career choice for me now and it has opened up the financial possibilities to be able to travel again, now that I have a stable income. I never thought I’d continue this blog after my time in Dakar but here I am, so if you’re wondering about the name I don’t plan on changing it as a tribute to what this blog once was. I know that being able afford to travel is an absolute gift it’s still a rare one that I cherish, especially with the pandemic I take caution and will be uploading my experiences with safety in mind. In addition I mentioned finances and to reduce the stigma of money talks I will be including a financial breakdown at the end of my posts. My adventures will be as frequent as possible but know it might be months between post, either way I hope you enjoy! Signing off – Kat the new travel blogger April 2022.
